Apparently white chocolate is CRAZY popular in Japan. While lobbies are built based on region, the results are international. It could be that Japan hard carried team white chocolate.

I won a 100x and a 10x for milk and I mostly battled dark. I think only one battle against another milk. I was SO shocked by the results

I picked white chocolate purely because of the last splatfest having mirror matches so often on team Spicy. I suspect many others had the same idea.
Since everyone seemed to think milk and dark were going to be most popular, I chose what I thought would be least popular because tricolour matches with no contribution felt completely pointless last splatfest.
I’m also a type 1 Diabetic, so chocolate isn’t something where I really have a favourite as I don’t eat it very often.

I didn’t really notice anything too suspicious when I played, but I did have people in my livechat saying they saw white chocolate members aimbotting. I don’t understand even the point of cheating, all you do is put yourself at risk of being banned from online play, and the rewards for being the winning team is a grand total of only THREE extra super sea snails (and that’s if you got to ruler, the benefits are just 1 or 2 at lower ranks). Why do people have this unhealthy need to win? I’m happy when I win something if my own skill helped me get there, what joy is there to get from cheating?

This was insane, the craziness I’ve seen with white chocolate is super shocking, as a person who has been playing since 2016, this has never happened before, I hope they do a redo on the Splatfest, also nice attempt to stop them from winning! 👍

There’s a lot of theories as to how White Chocolate won:

• White chocolate is popular in Japan
• Cum ink color
• The fact it’s hard to see things due to the color being so light, combined with Ninja Squid this is bad
• People suspected it would be the least popular team so people picked it as a strategy, as milk was suspected to be the most popular

I feel like a reason white choco won, was because so many people made the joke about the ink color, and others who heard the joke wanted in. I chose it cause I like it. And also I haven’t agreed with big man on any splatfest until now.

I don’t understand who designed this splatfest already to favor on white chocolate. There’s just no way the grabbed the glory. As far as respecting their victory that day I am still upset on the inside that that just happened. But there’s no way to take action now. What’s done is done and we will take action on hold someone accountable whoever screwed up this splatfest this month. Hopefully we will not fall for the same trick again next month.

This Splatfest was chalked for me because I don’t even like chocolate and they picked mincemeat for tri-color which was an L for me. White Ink sent White chocolate to victory I ain’t even mad.

Ok, so this is interesting to hear. I did pick white chocolate, but I wasn’t able to participate during the event. I know not everyone picks their splatfest team this way, but my reasoning for picking that team is less on flavor, but color. A near to white is a rare color to have in Splatoon. I will admit when I saw the results, it did seem overwhelming. Even if I didn’t participate, I can see how people can be upset for Nintendo having white be blinding to other teams.
I doubt that this would be implemented, BUT I would be interested for future splatfest to have a graph board at the end showing the states of the events. Hopefully next splatfest is better.

Granted, my team let a wheel decide what team we pick since the start of Splatoon 3 for every Splatfest, and it landed on white chocolate. I honestly thought we would lose to milk.
