I had the same experience, once I got in Eggsecutive VP it felt like everyone suddenly knows what they are doing less frustrating in the sense that randoms can coordinate more and survive a bit better. Any rank below is like fighting with salmonids and your teammates. I don’t miss Profreshional.

You know, when you finish up a EVP 999 Sockeye rotation a few days ago, and then watch this?

It really makes you appreciate how people in the higher end of EVP can actually like, survive. They still die but rarely and when they do die there’s a good reason for it.

There was just so many meaningless deaths in this video lol.

If you had your cousin create the lobby for salmon run, it would’ve used the lower difficulty. The game would’ve counted you as a “helper” and you wouldn’t have gotten a paycheck, but you wouldn’t have had to demote yourself…

I just started Splatoon 3 last week because I didn’t have time since it was released. As a Splatoon 2 veteran, the Salmon Run was… a total nightmare. I couldn’t get promoted after 10 games as my teammates kept dying and they had no idea how to deal with those different salmons. I guess they skipped the tutorial and even didn’t get used to aiming by a controller. I had no choice but to ask my friends to help me to get the Professional. Now it’s playable.

That story at the beginning is SO funny, but it just makes me think of my group. There’s only 3 of us, and we OFTEN derank specifically to challenge ourselves to climb back to VP. It’s dumb fun.
