Leo’s Aegis as per usual, runs very hot and cold.
His Aegis played absolutely phenomenal during the Kurama set and during some key moments with the 3 Sparg0 sets. It is probably the absolute best I have ever seen his Aegis play. But said Aegis also equally made some very silly flubs and bad habits, especially during gf set 2. This is, however, definitely a good event to show off and iron out the Aegis for the tournaments to come.

At this point I think the only reason Leo keeps using Aegis is because he feels personally offended that this character is not bringing him the success he saw from his other mains. He’s inching closer though.

Spargo played beautifully this set. His cloud seemed to be everywhere at once and he was insanely clutched. He more than deserved his first major win of the year! I’m impatient to see him compete in Japan.

here’s what i think about the Leo Aegis

he definitely proved something here by making it to grands with solo Aegis (i’m not 100% sure if he secondaried at some point) especially in a bracket like this, and in the current era of the ultimate meta. sparg0 obviously understands Leo’s character better than most people, so i think the fact that Leo stuck with the Pyra/Mythra all the way through grands was just a sign that he wanted to test his own limits with the character. congrats to both him and sparg0, at the end of the day Leo can play whoever he wants in order to enjoy playing the game for himself

Great set, we finally got spargo vs mkleo. Honestly I think Leo stayed mythra for so long and he SD’d more than usual so that determined the set, let’s see how he does he come back from this.
Congrats to Sparg0, he’s really a prodigy, Deserved first place !

A spectacular return to form for Spargo. He was cool, calm, and collected throughout the entirety of Grand Finals here in stark contrast to how visibly agitated and stressed he was at Collision and Summit. Leo, on the other hand, uncharacteristicly flustered by his mistakes here. That Pyra SD really upset him.
